"Bake Your Very Best Heritage Pie" Contest

Saturday 2pm

Is it a cherry or an apple pie? Perhaps a lime or lemon pie? Maybe it’s a peanut butter, chocolate or coconut pie? You just make your very best pie and bring it to be judged as the “Very Best of the Best” to win this Heritage Weekend pie baking contest. Preregistration is not required. Prepare your entry at home and bring it to the Pie Booth at the Hardy County Public Library on Saturday September 23th at 2 pm to show off your best recipe! Amateur bakers of all ages are welcome! Gift baskets and/or gift card will be awarded for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place.

Type your recipe on to an 8 1/2 x 11 sheet of paper. The recipe must include your name, address, contact phone number and email address, (if available), in the upper right hand corner.
Directions for preparing the recipe must be clear; measurements should be level cups, tablespoons, teaspoons or fractions thereof; also include the pan size, cooking length and temperature, number of servings and any other pertinent information. (If you use a frozen pie crust, you must disclose this on your recipe).
Contestants may submit more than one type of pie.
Contestants should arrive between 2:00 and 3:00 pm, with judging beginning promptly at 3:00 pm. Prizes will be awarded at the conclusion of judging. Entries must be complete and delivered on time or they will be disqualified. Pie pans may be picked up after winners are announced.
