2021 Tile House- The Jacob Teets House

Categories: Events,Uncategorized

The Hardy County Tour and Craft Association is pleased to announce that the 2021 Tile House for the 68th Annual Hardy County Heritage Weekend is the Jacob Teets House in Lost River. This home is proudly owned by Michael and Nicci Tusing. “The Tusing’s have kindly showcased their home for Heritage Weekend in the past, and we are proud they will be honored as this year’s Tile House,” said Elaine Davis, President HCT&CA.

The home, located on Dove Hollow Road, belonged to Michael’s grandparents. Upon their marriage, Micahel and Nicci took on the task of restoring the home to its full glory. The 1900s farmhouse shows the hard work and dedication the Tusing’s have put into the restoration. “It is a great honor to be hosting the Tile House this year. Being recognized for our hard work is incredibly humbling,” said Nicci. The Tusings are excited to share their piece of history with the community and invite you to visit during the Heritage Weekend, September 25th and 26th.
“We are gearing up for this year’s event and are thankful to be able to host Heritage Weekend as COVID-19 kept us from having 2020’s event,” said Davis. “You may find some events modified, and more outdoor events, but our board is committed to a top notch weekend!”
The community is encouraged to look for updates on the Hardy County Tour and Craft Association’s Facebook page and website www.heritageweekend.com for updates about the 2021 Heritage Weekend. A full slate of events and open homes is expected later this summer. The tile is currently in production and will be available for sale at the Hardy County Public Library soon!
