Several years ago, a new section of Corridor H was opened between Baker and Wardensville which makes the east and west sides of Hardy County a much quicker connection. You can pick up the highway at the north end of Moorefield or the south end of Wardensville. There is an exit for Baker which makes for easy access to Lost River and Mathias, and Arkansaw. The road has interesting bridges, and skims along the tops of the mountains. Keep an eye out as bald eagles have been spotted along with other varieties of wild life. Of course, for those who liked the lovely drive on "Old" 55, that road is still open and is still as scenic as ever.
